Fine Lines & Wrinkles
Fine lines often indicate the beginning of your skin’s aging process. They are small and shallow and may be hard to see initially. Fine lines on the face are often associated with repetitive movements, such as squinting, smiling, laughing or frowning. Fine lines are so superficial that they respond to treatments faster and easier than deeper wrinkles would. Wrinkles form when fine lines are not treated quickly and begin to deepen, but they also tend to form in different areas of the face more quickly, often progressing into facial folds.
Acne & Skin Pigmentation
You may be relieved to learn that PIH is not true scarring. It is often called “pseudo scarring” because although it leaves a mark on the skin for a period of time, it does not actually damage the follicle.
Scars result from the biological process of wound repair in the skin. Thus, scarring is a natural part of the healing process. Scarring can be categorised into 3 main categories;
- Dark and Light Scars – these superficial scars generally heal and are barely visible within 3-6 months.
- Raised Scars – this would include Hypertrophic Scars which are raised, they commonly occur on bendable areas of the skin (back, knees and elbows) and result from the stretching of wound edges while healing. Keloid Scars that tend to grow outside the border of the initial injury, and can become large, painful or itchy.
- Indented Scars – The most common scar type and are most often seen on the face (where acne has been present). This is caused when not enough scar tissue has formed and therefore does not match up with the surrounding skin.
Cellulite is a condition in which the skin has a dimpled, lumpy appearance. It usually affects the buttocks and thighs but can also occur in other areas. Cellulite occurs when fat deposits push through the connective tissue beneath the skin.
Unwanted Tattoos & Pores
All types of tattoos can be removed, including whole tattoos, parts of a tattoo, clearing an area for replacement artwork, disguising a previous solid colour cover-up, or reshaping eyebrows or lip colour tattoos.
Although not a medical condition, enlarged pores are a cosmetic concern for a large number of people. Enlarged or “open” pores can create unsightly uneven texture to the surface of the skin, also making the application of makeup uneven in appearance.
